saveValleyVillage takes illegal demolitions seriously.

We want our friends and neighbors to be informed of the danger

exposure to asbestos & other toxic construction materials illegal demo's cause.

The Planning Department and City Councilmembers neglecting to enforce these critical regulations should not be mistaken as these toxins as being somehow safe.

Please take a moment and read about these dangers at the link below,

provided by a very brave resident who was exposed to asbestos by a typical office remodel which released asbestos into the air.

Planning's incorrect data but still admits to lack of open space.

Using CEQA to Protect Your Community

Lincoln Place Garden Apartments is a great example of how community can prevail.

In 2001, the previous owner of the 1951 Lincoln Place Garden Apartment complex in Venice  announced a full-scale demolition and redevelopment plan to build hundreds of market-rate condominiums.   The fight to save Lincoln Place evolved into an epic preservation and tenant-rights battle with illegal demolitions, CEQA lawsuits, multiple hearings before the State Historical Resources Commission, and, ultimately, evictions.   In 2010, following years of negotiations, the Los Angeles City Council approved a settlement agreement between the Lincoln Place Tenants Association and the current property owner that will rehabilitate all existing buildings, enable eighty-three evicted tenants to return, and reactivate hundreds of rent-stabilized units on the Westside.
